Against all Odds: A BMXers journey through South America

Against all Odds : A BMXers journey through South America from IGI BMX / FAREAST / DUB on Vimeo.

Dub breaks this one down for us, I’m about to sit down with cuppa and enjoy this! The igiBMX bandwagon tour of South America, read on:

“Against all Odds is a BMX Flatland film documenting the travels of three good friends attempting to drive a beat up 1992 Mazda 323 through the winding roads of South America. Watch as they experience unfamiliar climates and settings from the dryness of the Chilean Atacama desert to the heights of the Bolivian Altiplano with one goal in mind, make it all the way to Bogotá, Colombia.
This journey wouldn’t have been made possible without the help of our sponsors : Nomi Trademark, Amnesia Shop, Hommage Bike Shop, Far East Cycles, Flatlandfuel and Flatmattersonline.com .
We would also like to thank everyone who gave us a hand
Support the movie and team by purchasing a DVD from igibmx.com.

Lookback: November 2015 – The Flatmattersonline 2015 Year end awards

These lookback features have definitely been fun to put together during the past fortnight or so, and already we are on November today! Looking back it seems September through till December were the biggest months of the year! Let’s go back through the highlights from last month…

Martti Kuoppa celebrates his 37th birthday on November 1st, and does it in style with another NBD move. If you are counting, that’s the third “Must watch” of the week, and a new door opened with the possibilities when he learnt this walking man stem lash (I think we can all see whats coming!)! The man is on a roll and its beautiful to see this kind of progression in our sport.

John Yull got inspired by Martti Kuoppa’s walking man stem lashes the other day and applied MK’s technique of switching feet on the stem to the foot jam decade.

Dub over at igi just published this dope line from Benjamin Hudson, filmed during a practise session at Flatark. Style and flow for days!

Lookback: July 2005 – The Flatmattersonline 2015 Year end awards

July was yet another amazing month for flatland in 2015, as is the nature of the beast with so many videos daily. You can forget what happened and when pretty quickly, lets go back through what went down in July!

GG.M.image Riders, Viki Gomez, Alberto Moya and Varo Hernandez in BCN, for Barcelona Extreme, grabbing a session at the waterfront spot right by the legendary Sea Walls. Viki ends this one as we all thought about doing, but he did it! Good times! Proper summer time vibes to begin July with!

If you missed this one on instagram, it is definitely worth checking this piece of creativity out! Hell yes Fork one!

To celebrate Jody’s 27th anniversary riding bikes, Jody just dropped this short but sweet “Summer Short edit”. After battling a severe back injury for the last year or so, it is great to see some fresh Jody Temple footage. Stoked on the half hiker pivot karl bar flip line at 00:49, and the hang nothing bar flips at 1:17 is so good! Much more than that Jody’s and I guess the Athens crew as well, always look like they are having a blast on their bikes! That’s ultimately what it is all about!

Lookback: June 2015 – The Flatmattersonline 2015 Year end awards

Summer time is here in June, often one of the best months of the year for content, quality edits and plenty of contests going down down across the globe. Take a check back on what went down this year….

There aren’t enough scene edits anymore, so today I was stoked to find in my inbox this awesome Texas Scene edit entitled “We are” featuring just about everybody who makes up the Texas Flatland scene from Art Thomason to Ruben Castillo to John Yull, this is a good watch! A good way to get June started!

Viki Gomez’s first session of June, throwing down signature move after signature move in Luxembourg! Look out in particular for the first combo and the last one at 2:14. Pure freestyle from one of the best, don’t miss this!

Lookback: May 2015 – The Flatmattersonline 2015 Year end awards

Looking back, May was a crazy month in the year, check through my highlights from the month….

Sean Fontenot’s riding always has me on the edge of my seat, check this latest short edit where he states “I’ve always been good at G-turns, but bad with nose manuals. I’ve decided to correct that.” Shot with Konova K7 Slider (aside from last shot) Sean’s riding is so explosive, amazing stuff at the Globe spot in Long Beach, California!

Flatland legend, Trevor Meyer kills this Chiacgo parking lot between shows on the front and back wheel. This is well worth a watch!

At the age of 43, Todd Carter has made the move up to the Pro ranks and is arguably riding better than ever. Check out this great edit he just put together to celebrate, it’s going down for real!

Bike Days 2015 Day 3

Judges view warm up

I just got back home from Bike Days with nothing but good feelings about this event. If you have never been to Switzerland, every thing runs like clockwork, everything is very clean, well signposted, lots of green countryside, beautiful mountain views, the people are very friendly and polite. It is hard not to love the place!
